What Neutron can do

Answers from issue history

Projects, issues, and comments sync into askneutron, so Neutron can explain what happened and why.

Jira access rules apply

Project permissions, project roles, and issue security levels sync with the work, so answers follow who can see each issue.

Read-only

The connection only reads. Neutron does not create, edit, or close issues in Jira.

What it connects

Jira holds the record of how work gets done: what was reported, what was decided, and what changed. The Jira connection syncs projects, issues, and comments into askneutron, so Neutron can answer questions about past and ongoing work and cite the issue it used.

Jira is in preview. It syncs into knowledge, so answers reflect the last sync. Live lookups and actions in chat, such as checking an issue’s current status or filing an issue, are on the way.

Access and permissions

Jira decides who can browse each project and, through issue security levels, who can see individual issues. askneutron syncs those rules along with project roles, groups, and group membership, and uses them to decide which issues can appear in each person’s answers.

People are matched to their Jira account by verified email, so the rules apply to the right person.
